Raspberry Beetle Trap (Byturus tomentosus)

Adult raspberry beetles are attracted by two key features:

1. A species-specific pheromone lure (sold separately), which emits a scent that draws beetles toward the trap.
   
2. The white cross-vanes, which visually mimic raspberry flowers and enhance attraction.
   

Beetles fly toward the vanes, collide with the panels and fall through the funnel into the collection bucket below. Adding a small amount of soapy water prevents escape, allowing accurate monitoring of beetle numbers while also contributing to population reduction during peak activity.

By combining visual and pheromone attraction, the trap provides an effective monitoring and mass-trapping tool for soft fruit pest control.

• Assemble the trap by attaching and securing the white cross-vanes.
  
• Add a small amount of soapy water to the base collection bucket.
  
• Insert a Raspberry Beetle Pheromone Lure (sold separately) into the lure holder at the top of the trap.
  
• Hang the trap at crop height within raspberry, blackberry or loganberry rows.
  
• Use one trap per 100–200 m², depending on crop density.
  
• Replace the lure every 4–6 weeks throughout the season.
  
• Check the trap regularly and dispose of captured beetles responsibly.
