Choosing crawling insect traps

Different crawling insect traps are designed to catch different household pests. General-purpose sticky traps can catch spiders, ants, beetles, cockroaches and other insects travelling across floors, while specialist silverfish traps are intended for use in humid areas where silverfish are active.

Before positioning a trap, inspect the area for live insects, droppings, shed skins, moisture and possible hiding places. Place traps directly against walls, skirting boards, cupboards or appliance edges, as crawling insects often travel along protected routes rather than across open floors.
