Product Details & Use

Product Overview

Our Moth Catcher Trap with Attractant is a professional-grade pheromone trap designed to monitor and reduce problem moth populations in fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops. By attracting and catching adult male moths, these traps help interrupt the mating cycle, allowing you to track activity and support timely control measures throughout the season.

How It Works

Each trap uses a slow-release pheromone attractant that mimics the scent of a female moth. Adult males are drawn into the trap and become contained inside the plastic chamber. By removing males from the population, mating and egg laying are reduced, helping to limit damage while giving you a clear visual indicator of moth pressure in your greenhouse, polytunnel or orchard.

The plastic container itself is impregnated with the pheromone lure, forming a long-lasting attractant surface. Each pheromone unit is active for approximately 4–6 weeks, providing consistent monitoring over the key flight periods.

How to Use

  • Select the correct pheromone variant for the target species (e.g. Tuta absoluta, Codling Moth, Plum Fruit Moth, etc.).
  • Assemble the trap according to the instructions provided.
  • Hang the trap at crop height in the greenhouse, polytunnel or orchard, away from strong airflow that may disperse the pheromone too quickly.
  • Place traps when adults are first active – from the start of the flight of the overwintering generation – to catch early-season moths.
  • Check traps regularly, recording catch numbers to monitor activity and plan any additional control measures.
  • Replace each pheromone lure every 4–6 weeks, or sooner if catches decline or the monitoring period has finished.
