Seasonal timing can vary with temperature, weather and local pest activity. Continue checking your plants and always follow the instructions supplied with the product.
Position BuxTrap near your box plants but not deep inside dense foliage. An open location allows the pheromone to travel through moving air and makes the trap easier for moths to find. Check your hedge whenever captures increase, as the trap monitors adult moths but cannot remove caterpillars already feeding inside the plant.

This moth trap really works! I caught 8 moths in one night! It’s easy to assemble, and the pheromone capsules obviously work! I have bought 3 traps now and recommend anyone who has Boxus hedges to buy these. They are brilliant for catching the moths.

Won’t stop caterpillars on its own but certainly identifies when to spray. Catches plenty of moths at the relevant point in their lifecycle, but none at other times.Seems pretty straightforward to put together with or without instructions.

2 Bought 2 of these Trap + Pheromone kits to try on our c.120year old and 20m long box hedge. Installed mid-June and caught over 40 moths in a 3 week period. So far so good. No sign of the next lot of caterpillars yet.
6 weeks on I’ve just renewed the Pheromone capsules and added 2 more Traps. Not caught anything yet. Continuing to monitor the hedge and update review in October and in spring 2027.
This has saved our box hedge. The hedge had been decimated and since putting the trap up and hosing the hedge down to ensure nothing is still in there, the hedge is showing remarkable signs of recovery. We've had the trap up for around 2 weeks and it's caught over 50 moths so far!! So pleased we purchased this kit.
I set up the trap as instructed and a week later, not one moth has been lured. The moths seem attracted to the trap but never venture inside.

I set up the BuxTrap – Box Tree Moth Trap & Pheromone Lure Set at the start of spring as temperatures began to rise, and it’s already proving worthwhile. It was quick and easy to assemble, and within a few days I’d caught the first moths of the season.
It’s a simple, non-chemical way to monitor and reduce box tree moth activity before any real damage starts. If you have box hedges, now is the perfect time to put one out. Highly recommended!

Works very well, and does catch a lot of moths every night. Container a bit fragile and had to buy another when bashed it with the lawnmower, but not expensive

If this trap is put out at the correct time its awesome always full of moths, hopefully my box hedge will recover it's took a beating this year because of dry weather ideal for moths to breed.

So far so good. Has caught lots of moths but not the Box Tree Moth.....alas! I like the transparent bottom section as you can see what you've caught unlike other types where you have to open up the trap, often letting the moth escape! I am hoping the transparent bottom section will resist UV and not go opaque. Early days yet but it looks like a well designed product.
